Welcome to our 17th season! Our Music Director, Larry Kuntz is on a sabbatical for our 2011-2012 Concert Season and we have three accomplished and very talented guest conductors lined up. Please read their biographies under Music Director. Our "Summer POPS Spectacular" on July 10, 2011 was under the direction of our Assistant Conductor, Susan Gross, featuring Washington Post (March); El Tango (Latin); To Reap the Blessings of Freedom (Patriotic); Take Five (1940's) Gershwin (medley); Liberty Bell (March); Armed Forces Salute; Africa (oldies); Lord of the Dance; and finally Stars and Stripes (march). We start off our fall concert season with Works from England "Fish & Chips: An English Treat" under the direction of Guest Conductor Brian Buterbaugh. This concert features Handel's "Overture" to Music for the Royal Fireworks; Holst "Mars" from The Planets; Elgar "Nimrod" from Enigma Variations; Lloyd Webber/arr. Custer Selections from "The Phantom of the Opera; Norman/arr. Cerulli The James Bond Theme; and ending with Haydn Symphony No 100, "Military. Please keep checking this site for information on our 4th season of "Taste of Chamber Music" held in January in the beautiful Conservatory of The Eichelberger Performing Arts Center. Our spring season will be Carnival of the Animals "A Night at the Carnival" under the direction of Guest Conductor Jamie Brown. This concert features Camille Saint-Seans "Carnival of the Animals"; Hector Berlioz "Roman Carnival Overture"; Antonin Dvorak "Carnival Overture, Op 92"; Johann Strauss "On the Beautiful Blue Danube Waltz"; Richard Meyer Acrobats.
