Volunteer Opportunities
Our volunteers play a critical part in keeping the Hanover Symphony Orchestra running. The HSO offers a variety of volunteer positions. If you are interested in helping out the HSO, please fill out the contact form below and begin your volunteer work today!
Current Volunteer Opportunities:
Concert Ushers
Volunteer Duties Include taking tickets at the door before each concert and/or helping patrons find their seats. As an incentive, the HSO offers free admission to the volunteer for the concert they are volunteering for. In addition to this, each volunteer is invited to the annual year end HSO Appreciation Banquet.
Stage Crew
Volunteer Duties Include: Helping set the stage (chairs, stands and risers) prior to the dress rehearsal, move stage equipment as needed during the performance and tear down the stage at the conclusion of the concert. This position allows you to view the performance, for free, from a unique vantage point. In addition to this, each volunteer is invited to the annual year end HSO Appreciation Banquet.
Merchandise Sales
Volunteer Duties Include: Helping set up and tear down the merchandise display, assist our merchandise coordinator in sales before the performance, during intermission and at the conclusion of the performance. As an incentive, the HSO offers free admission to the volunteer for the concert they are volunteering for. In addition to this, each volunteer is invited to the annual year end HSO Appreciation Banquet.
Audio and Visual Assistants
Volunteer Duties Include: Helping run the lighting and sound under the guidance of our AV Coordinator during each performance. This position allows you to view the performance, for free, from a unique vantage point. In addition to this, each volunteer is invited to the annual year end HSO Appreciation Banquet.
