Susan M. Gross - Assistant Conductor
Mrs. Sue Gross is a creator/founding member of the HSO, HSO Assistant Conductor for 30 years and HSO Principal Violist for 25 years. Sue has studied Viola since the 3rd grade under the tutelage of Mr. Robert Shreffler and Mr. Clyde Mummert.
Sue is retired from 35 years of teaching music in the Spring Grove Area School District. In those years, she was SGI Choral Director, String Director for grades 3–8, and taught elementary band, essential music grades 1-8, and Marching Band/Indoor Guard.
Sue is a multi-instrumentalist and conductor playing and conducting with various local ensembles. She was also the interim handbell choir director at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Hanover.
Sue’s education includes:
Graduate of Hanover Public School District,
BS Music Education from West Chester University,
MS Curriculum and Instruction from McDaniel College, and
ESL Degree from Millersville University/Wilkes University
